Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of Ricardo Pereira, after the defender was forced to limp off versus Norwich.

The Foxes made the trip to Carrow Road, for their 3rd outing of the new Premier League campaign.

Leicester headed into proceedings in search of a bounce-back three points, having followed up a stellar opening to the season with a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of West Ham last time out.

And, when all was said and done on Saturday afternoon, return to winning ways is precisely what the visitors managed.

A hard-fought 90 minutes ultimately saw the Foxes emerge on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline, courtesy of strikes from Jamie Vardy and substitute Marc Albrighton.

An otherwise positive day’s work for Leicester, however, was soured to at least some degree by a fresh blow on the personnel front.

With all of Jonny Evans, Jannik Vestergaard and Wesley Fofana already on the treatment table, Brendan Rodgers’ defensive headache was added to even further by a problem picked up by Ricardo Pereira.

Bizarrely, the Portuguese suffered the injury in the process of teeing up his side’s opener, surging down the right before squaring for Vardy, only to pull up moments later.

Pereira, in turn, was forced to limp off, before being replaced by the returning Timothy Castagne.

Rodgers said‘It looks like his hamstring, but we’ll have to await the scan and then assess the situation from there.’to await the scan and then assess the situation from there.”
