The popularity of the Afrobeats sound can not be undermined, and this was reflected as six different Nigerian artists made the major Billboard 2022 end of the year charts. Tems and CKay, however, made history in 2022 as they became the only Nigerian artists to make an appearance on more than one chart.

CKay made his appearance on 3 different Billboard 2022 end of the year charts with his hit song ‘Love Nwantiti.’ He appeared on the Hot 100 chart at number 55 with ‘Love Nwantiti’ before making an appearance on the Global 200 chart at number 17 with the same hit song. The surprise, however, came when he became the only Nigerian artist to appear on the Artists 100 chart at number 98.

Tems appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 with her features on Future’s ‘Wait For U’ at number 11 and Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ at number 44. She also made an appearance on the Billboard Global 200 at number 44 with Future’s ‘Wait For U.’
