Dessers Scoops Feyenoord's POTM Award For April

Nigeria forward Cyriel Dessers has been voted Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Player Of The Month for April, Completesports.com reports.

Dessers scored four goals and recorded two assists in seven appearances for Arne Slot’s side within the month.

The 27–year-old scored two goals in Feyenoord’s away win against Czech side Slavia Prague in the UEFA Europa Conference League and also scored another brace against Olympic Marseille in the same competition.

It’s the second time Dessers will be picking up the individual prize this season after winning it last November.

The forward, who is on loan at Feyenoord from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk also won the Goal of the Month award same month.

Dessers has played a key role in Feyenoord’s progress into the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The striker has scored 10 goals and recorded two assists in the competition for the club.

The former Heracles Almelo striker impressive form at club as earned him a recall to the Super Eagles for the international friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador.

Dessers has not been called by Nigeria since making his debut in a friendly 1-1 draw with the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in October 2020.
