Former Nigerian midfielder, Henry Nwosu is confident the Super Eagles will overcome Liberia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He made this known in an interview with Completesports.com, where he stated that Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has the array of talents to conquer his opponent with ease.
Recall that Nigeria have been pitted alongside Liberia, Cape Verde and Central Africa Republic (CAR) and the Super Eagles will face the Lone Stars at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on September 4 before battling Cape Verde three days later.
Nwosu, who was a member of the team that won the 1980 Nations Cup, said that he’s optimistic Liberia can’t escape defeat in Lagos.
“This is one game the Super Eagles will be hungry and determine to win in order to make a statement of intent, in terms of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
“There is no doubt that with the caliber of players invited by Super agles coach, Gernot Rohr, Liberia will definitely be mauled by Nigeria at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
“The players knows what is at stake and they won’t won’t to jeopardize their chances of playing at the biggest football showpiece in the world. I am confident Nigeria will overcome Liberia come September 4.”
