Gunmen abduct Senator Effiong in Akwa IbomFormer Senator representing Eket Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State, Nelson Effiong has been abducted by unknown gunmen.  Three-armed hoodlums reportedly stormed his lounge, a popular sit-out along Oron Road in Uyo at about 9:00pm on Sunday night, September 5, opening fire on customers in the lounge, after which the Senator was taken away. Several customers at the bar were injured during the attack. An eye witness said;  “He was later whisked away by the gunmen in a Toyota Camry car to an unknown destination.” Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Odiko Macdon also confirmed the development, saying;  “The command is in receipt of the report and investigation is ongoing to get to the root of the matter”. The post Gunmen abduct former Akwa Ibom Senator, Nelson Effiong appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
