KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 — PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang appears unconcerned about the growing number of complaints against him to the police demanding action for what his critics deem as racially inflammatory remarks.

He said he was ready to go to Bukit Aman and had no issues with anyone lodging reports against him, several news outlets reported last night.

“Go on and lodge a police report. I’m willing to go to Bukit Aman, it’s alright,” Hadi was quoted by news portal Malaysiakini as telling reporters after a ceramah for the Tioman state seat election in Pahang.

On Monday, Hadi accused DAP of spreading Islamophobia in another lengthy Facebook rant that featured the usual diatribe against the Pakatan Harapan component member as a party allegedly bent on “destroying” Islam.

In August, he accused non-Muslims and non-Bumiputera of making up the bulk of what he called as “roots of corruption” — those who chase illicit gains — to the detriment of the country’s economy and politics.

Hadi’s vituperative remarks appears to have caught on in PAS as well.

PAS’ Baling MP Hassan Saad is being investigated by police for his remarks a few days ago portraying PKR president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as an agent of Zionist Israel.

Police secretary Datuk Noorsiah Saaduddin said the matter is being investigated under Section 504 and Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace respectively.
