Susie Wright recently informed us that she cleaned out her closet during a remodel. As we mentioned here, given her adoration for fashion and her work as a former Nordstrom buyer and current stylist, she has accumulated quite the clothing collection over the years, and we were super intrigued at what she kept in her rotation.

She let us know that she actually ditched about half of her clothes during the process. Over on her blog, So Susie, she highlighted a range of pieces she got rid of, including poorly fitted denim, graphic tees she’s no longer wearing, old swimwear, and dated dresses that she’d been saving “just in case.” That said, as she sorted through everything, she was able to further zero in on the items she’d never toss given that they are staples in her eyes. We thought you might be interested in learning about the pieces Wright believes are tried-and-true spring and summer wardrobe heroes thanks to their versatile, classic, and modern nature. This is all in addition to the items she previously mentioned.

With that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the pieces Wright will keep in her closet for quite some time, complete with visual and shopping inspiration.

“I have my eye on roomier cotton shirts these days. They pair nicely with denim, and they add a little polish to a casual outfit.”

“I can’t imagine getting dressed without my collection of denim jackets! Right now, I’m wearing this slightly oversize version from Levi’s. The faded wash is perfect for spring and summer.”

“White denim is on constant rotation from now until early fall. Pretty much the key piece to every spring and summer outfit.”

“Currently loving anything gold, chunky, and layered, whether it’s a link necklace or a statement bracelet. These are the details that add interest to pretty much any ensemble.”

“Another summer staple! A cotton dress is perfect for warmer weather, and it works with everything from sneakers to flip-flops to sandals.”

“Jackets are one of those staples that really complete an outfit. They’re versatile and stylish, and they add extra warmth if needed in the evenings.”

“Everyone needs at least a couple of T-shirt dresses. They’re super easy and comfy, and you can change the look instantly by switching up your shoes and accessories. Slip on some slide sandals, and you’re ready to go.”

Up next, the under-$50 items I’m buying to make my wardrobe exponentially more stylish.
