Udoka released an apology letter to the members of his team, players, supporters of the club and also his family members for putting them through the unwanted attention.

I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.

The Celtics confirmed in an announcement on Thursday, September 22nd, that Udoka would be suspended for the entirety of the upcoming 2022-2023 season due to violations of team policies. However, assistant coach Joe Mazzulla will step in as head coach for the time being.
