Former Vice President Leni Robredo has officially launched her non-profit organization Angat Buhay (Uplift Lives) Foundation, registered under the name Angat Pinas Inc., to continue the work of the programs she established under the Office of the Vice President (OVP). It is reportedly set to become the largest volunteer network in the country, leveraging the huge number of volunteers and supporters she amassed as part of the “pink movement” during the May 2022 presidential campaign.

Robredo kicked off the NGO’s work at its volunteer center on Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City with a program featuring a two-day street and art festival.

Similar to the OVP’s Angat Buhay program she initiated while in office, the Angat Buhay Foundation’s programs and initiatives will be based on four pillars: health, education, disaster relief and rehabilitation, and community engagement.

Hindi dapat masayang yung magandang nasimulan natin. Hindi man tayo nagwagi, nagtagumpay pa rin tayo (We should not let what we have started go to waste. We may not have won, but we have still made triumphs). We really started something very very special during the campaign,” Robredo said.

Part of the foundation’s fund-raising initiatives includes selling off the huge number of paintings and artworks that were gifted to Robredo’s campaign.

Supporters may also donate to the foundation via a mobile app that is launching soon. Donations may be made through patron-based donations, project-based donations, or a disaster relief fund for any future calamities.
