Renato Sanches is wanted by five sides including Premier League outfits Manchester City, Liverpool, and Newcastle.
Spanish publication Fichajes claims Barcelona and AC Milan will also reportedly rival the Premier League trio for the Lille player.
The Portugal star, 24, has managed to revive his career in Ligue 1 after enduring a poor time at Swansea City during the 2017-18 season while on loan from Bayern Munich.
Such was his plight, Sanches even went viral after mistakenly passing to an advertising board during a game against Chelsea.
But now he’s back to his best, with Lille reportedly ‘rubbing their hands together’ at the idea of cashing in on their players.
Liverpool will be looking to bolster their midfield, especially with the ageing James Milner. While Fernandinho who in many respects has been one of City’s most important players in recent years is also coming to the end of his playing days.
Newcastle are among those linked following their mega £305m Saudi takeover. At present they’re playing Joe Willock alongside Jonjo Shelvey in midfield. The capture of Sanches would be seen as something of a coup considering their current league predicament.
Sanches was at one point considered one of the best teenagers around. Bayern Munich signed Sanches for £30million in 2016 but he soon fell out of favour with Carlo Ancelotti and found himself on the bench.
Lille signed him in 2019 and he was instrumental in helping them win Ligue 1 last season. He has two years left on his contract with the French side, who languish in 12th spot after manager Christophe Galtier left them for Nice.
