Lionel Messi has arrived in Paris ahead of his move to Paris Saint Germain (PSG). The Argentine had earlier in the day agreed to sign a two-year deal with the Paris club. The contract is expected to run until June 2024 and he will earn 25 million pounds a year, excluding tax.
Everyone who was present at the Airport welcomed the Argentine with cheers and applause. Messi also waved back at the fans as a sign of appreciation for the warm welcome. The signing of the midfielder will make a PSG potent force whenever they are on the attack.
PSG fans and the board of directors will hope the trio of Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe will give their team dominance in France and Europe.
The Ligue 1 side has made key signings this season; Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool, and Gianluigi Donnarumma from AC Milan, all for free.
Messi left Barcelona after 21 years at the club, the La Liga side could not renew his contract because of the financial fair play rule in Spain.
