NPFL: ; Akwa United Secure Top Spot; Rangers Outclass Enyimba In Oriental Derby

Rivers United maintained top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League following a 1-1 draw against their hosts Remo Stars in Ikenne on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.

Andy Okpe gave the home team the lead on 10 minutes, while Chijoke Akuneto levelled scores for Rivers United two minutes before the break.

The two teams are still unbeaten in the NPFL this season.

Rivers United and Remo Stars have the same number of points (19), but the former have a superior goal difference.

Former champions Plateau United beat Abia Warriors 1-0 in Jos.

Albert Hilary netted the winning goal in the 67th minute.

At the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, Wikki Tourists defeated Nasarawa United 2-0.

Abubakar Aliyu and Anas Yusuf scored both goals for the hosts.

In Uyo, Rangers held Dakkada to a 0-0 draw moving to third position on the table.

Holders Akwa United beat Niger Tornadoes away with Leo Ezekiel netting the winning goal in the 66th minute.

In the South West derby, 3SC pip MFM 1-0 at the Agege Stadium.

Damilare Olatunji scored the decisive goal in the fifth minute.
