Newcastle United have completed the signing of Chris Wood from Burnley. He is expected to be at the club for the next two and a half years.

The news was confirmed on Newcastle United’s official website on Thursday, January 13th, 2022. Wood expressed his delight to join the club and hopes he can repay the faith the club has in him.

This is a very exciting opportunity for me and I am delighted to be a Newcastle United player. I have played at St. James’ Park a few times and it’s an amazing place, so to have the chance to represent this club with those incredible supporters behind me, and my teammates is very special. The club and the manager have been first class during this process, and I really can’t wait to get onto the pitch and repay the faith they have in me, especially with a vital part of the season ahead of us.

The club’s manager, Eddie Howe also expressed his delight that the club was able to sogn the New Zealand player.

Chris is an important signing for us at a crucial time and I am very pleased we have been able to move quickly and bring him here. He is a very dangerous attacking threat, has a physicality and character that I really like, and he has vsst experience in the Premier League. He will be a great fit for us.

Woods have had experience with various clubs which includes West Brom, Barnsley, Brighton, Birmingham City, Millwall and Leicester City.
