PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has appointed Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin (pix) as its chief operating officer (COO), effective tomorrow.
“The commission welcomes Raja Azmi, who brings with him extensive knowledge and experience in the aviation industry as well as the corporate sector. Mavcom is confident Raja Azmi will be able to lead the commission well in promoting a consumer-focused and resilient civil aviation sector,“ Mavcom said in a statement.
Raja Azmi replaces Azmir Zain, who resigned from his position as Mavcom’s COO effective Aug 14, 2020. Azmir had earlier indicated his intention to leave the commission to pursue other interests. He had been with the commission since April 1, 2016.
Raja Azmi was group CEO of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd from Jan 4, 2019 to Jan 6, 2020. Prior to that, he was the group CFO. He has also served in senior management positions at multiple listed as well as unlisted entities.
