As Muslims across the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir on Tuesday, the Provost of the Kwara State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Ilorin, Alhaji Imam Abubakar Ayinla, has admonished them to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols in order to remain safe and healthy

In a goodwill message personally signed by the Provost, he also urged the true believers to increase their dedication to Allah for more rewards.

“As we celebrate the feast of sacrifice with worship, I enjoin us to be mindful of the risk of the COVID-19 pandemic and therefore adhere strictly to the safety protocols by our public health authorities,” he advised.

Ayinla, who further called for the moderate celebration by all Muslims, but stretch their hands of friendship to the less privileged, widows and others, reminded them that it is neither the meat nor the blood of the animals they are preparing to kill that will reach Allah, but the piety with which they make the sacrifice to Him.

He, therefore, urged the entire Muslim Ummarh and Nigerians in general to imbibe the lessons of dedication and obedience to higher authority as demonstrated in Prophet Ibrahim’s preparedness to sacrifice his only son in obedience to the instruction of Allah.

The Provost also stressed the need for Nigerians to continue to make sacrifices that are necessary for nation-building that will make our country safe and secured among the comity of nations.

“Through total submission to His will, we can confidently confront our challenges as individuals and as a nation, assured that Allah will always intervene decisively in the affairs of our nation.

“As people of faith, therefore, let us continue to seek the face of the Almighty Allah in our various challenges, be it insecurity or the COVID-19 pandemic, and as President Muhammadu Buhari strive to make Nigeria a comfortable home for all citizens,” he stated.

The administrator assured that his college is well-positioned to deliver on its mandate, “through the adequate support of the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration in the state which has provided an enabling environment for academic activities and peaceful atmosphere in the college community.”
