A man was going about with his regular prayer routine at his doorstep when his neighbor suddenly came out striking her gong multiple times as if to disrupt him.

Livanesh Ramu, a Hindu, said that his family had been performing the five-minute ritual twice a week in the past 20 years but the sound of their prayer bells never attracted such a reaction till recently. He posted a video of the incident to Facebook last night, where it has since garnered thousands of views.

“Like many other Hindus this has been a part of our family’s 5-minute, twice a week prayer routine. Having lived in this home for more than 20-years we never had any issues. I guess with COVID we have a new norm…,” he said in the video caption.

It is not clear where or when the incident happened. Ramu did not immediately respond to a request for further comment.

In the nearly 20-second video, he was filmed praying while ignoring the woman striking her gong aggressively in the background. The video has since been shared over 1,300 times.

Viewers have largely condemned the woman in the video and told him to pay no attention to her.

“Don’t mind those that don’t matter. Remain calm and as long as the heart and mind are in the right places, things will be alright. You do you, and let her suffer her demons if she chooses to behave that way. I wish you better peace,” Gabriel Yeap wrote.

“Just stay calm and carry on with your prayer routine,” Rachel Lim wrote.
