Canadian footballer Quinn has become the first openly transgender athlete to participate in the Olympics.  Quinn, 25, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, played in Canada’s 1-1 draw with Japan in Sapporo last week. Reacting on Instagram, she wrote: “I feel proud seeing `Quinn’ up on the lineup and on my accreditation. I feel sad knowing there were Olympians before me unable to live their truth because of this world. I feel optimistic for change. Change in legislature, Changes in rules, structures, and mindsets.”“Mostly, I feel aware of the realities,” Quinn continued. “Trans girls being banned from sports. Trans women facing discrimination and bias while trying to pursue their Olympic dreams. The fight isn’t close to over … and I’ll celebrate when we’re all here.”Quinn came out as transgender last year. She was also a member of the Canadian team that won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.Quinn, who plays professionally for OL Reign in the National Women’s Soccer League, is not the only transgender athlete participating in the Tokyo Games. Laurel Hubbard, a transgender woman is competing in weightlifting for New Zealand. Chelsea Wolfe, a transgender cyclist, is a reserve on the U.S. women’s BMX Freestyle team. The post Tokyo Olympics: Canadian footballer, Quinn becomes the first openly transgender person to compete at the Olympics appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.

  2. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be
really something which I think I would never
understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!

  3. I have noticed that online education is getting popular because obtaining ykur degree online has
developed into a popular selection for manjy people.
Numerous people have not necessarily had a possibility to attend a traditional college or university but seek the raiseed easrning potential and a better jobb that a Bachelor
Degree gives. Still others might have a qualifjcation in one course but would wish to pursue
some thing they already have aan interest in.

  4. Heya! I understand this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask.
Does building a well-established website like yours require a lot of work?
I’m brand new to running a blog but I do write in my journal
on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and thoughts online.
Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or tips for new aspiring bloggers.
    Appreciate it!
