Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen decided to leave the club due to the team’s prospective swoop for Jules Kounde.
The Sevilla defender is still a key target for Chelsea, and they were very close to signing him last summer.
According to The Athletic, the Denmark international felt the club were attempting to replace him all summer.
When Chelsea were unable to secure Kounde, they returned to the negotiating table with Christensen.
However, the player was unhappy with the deal on offer, and felt it was best for his career to move on.
He will join Antonio Rudiger in leaving the club this summer on the expiry of his contract.
