Manchester City star, Gabriel Jesus, did not want teammate Bernardo Silva’s contribution to go unnoticed as they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at home.
The Citizens are through to the round of 16 of the Champions League as group winners, besting PSG despite going behind early in the second half.
Jesus got the winning goal for City, but wanted to focus on Silva’s outstanding assist to give him an easy tap in to eventually win the game for his side.
“Thanks to Bernardo! I know his quality, that’s why I waited and finished good,” Jesus told the club’s website.
“I helped my team, that’s what I want to do when I come onto the pitch. It was a great ball from Bernardo so I had to score!
“We have a lot of players who can play well and help the team – our power as a team is this. Everyone wants to play a good pass to the other player. Nobody is selfish here – we all want to win the game.”
