If there was any worry that you won’t be able to visit malls in Indonesia because you got your COVID-19 vaccine abroad, the latest announcement from Indonesia’s Health Ministry should put your mind at ease.

The ministry has launched a website for both Indonesians and foreign nationals who were vaccinated overseas, which should enable them to sign up for the integrated health and mobility tracking app PeduliLindungi that is now mandatory to gain access to public facilities across the country, such as malls, restaurants, and cinemas.

The main purpose of the website is to verify people’s vaccination status; Indonesians will be screened by the Health Ministry while foreign nationals will be screened by their respective embassies. They can then sign up for PeduliLindungi after receiving confirmation of verification via email, the process for which reportedly takes up to three days. Those who want to register can do so here.

In a virtual press conference held today, the ministry’s Chief of Digital Transformation, Setiaji, said their database recognizes a variety of COVID-19 vaccines, including those by Sinopharm, Johnson & Johnson, and Sputnik. Setiaji added that the database will be gradually updated to include other vaccine options in the future.
